On a green jungle background, a young woman's head and shoulders portrait. Her hair is blond and partially styled in braids. Her eyes have been sewn shut and around her head a beautiful turquoise-colored snake is coiled. She has the snake's tail between her teeth.

The Grudge

This is a partial rework of a paiting from 2020.

This painting has a lot to do with mental health and self-love, or lack thereof. It was made in a moment of my life when I was contending with searing anger, rejection, and grief. Yet anger can be a sign of self-love. It means you know you have worth and deserve better.

For those who wonder, the snake species is Trimesurus Insularis, also known as the white-lipped pit viper.

This painting was made in Krita and retouched in Photoshop.
