Oil paiting. A woman with octopus tentacle hair in a purple dress combs herself with a seashell before a mirror, while a toad watches from the vanity table among pots of cosmetics and hair brushes. They are surrounded by greenery. In the distance, billowing clouds and an agricultural landscape.

I’m trying to skim the line between beautiful and unsettling, even liminal, if I can. A non-being in a non-place that reminds you of something you think you may know but can never quite fully grasp. Something from a dream of a dream.

With this painting I think I may have reached my goal, at least in small part.
