Oil paiting. A woman with octopus tentacle hair in a purple dress combs herself with a seashell before a mirror, while a toad watches from the vanity table among pots of cosmetics and hair brushes. They are surrounded by greenery. In the distance, billowing clouds and an agricultural landscape.

Haunt

There’s an old ramshakle skeleton of a house house along the road in my town.
It’s not been mantained for many years and the roof is gone.
Countless times have I looked at the crumbling walls with a kind of sorrow, trying to imagine how the lives of those living there would have been.

In spring, creeping wisteria vines bloom purple all over. It’s beautiful.

I tried to capture the moment when a chill spring wind runs through you and reminds you of times past when you were much younger and so, so much more careless.

Oil on canvas, 60 x 50 cm
