This painting was a commission for the very kind Ricciotto, a member of the Kenobisboch community. He commissioned me this painting to add to his ever-growing collection of Alpha Chun Li artwork and I was honored to be asked along with many other great artists.

I tried to capture her mid-kick, in a dynamic pose, as she goes through her daily training.

The natural setting is inspired by a photo of Japanese martial artist and actress Rumi Maeda.

Oil on canvas, about 60×70 cm.

For some reason, I really like oranda goldfish. I’m endlessly entertained by their reflective scales, their long graceful tails that look like flowing veils, and their clumsy way of swimming. This fascination is reflected in the way I paint them. They endow me with a feeling of peace and fascinate me.

This is an oil painting. Oil has been a real challenge for me because of its technical requirements and the high cost of materials. Not to mention I make a mess when I paint and oil pigments are the most obstinate when you want to wash stains away. However, there are very few things that feel like real oils. I need to go back to paiting with them.
