This oil painting comes from a nightmare I had when I was maybe 4 years old.
In that case, it was a common wall lizard (like the very angry one in the picture I took years ago) who swallowed me and then showed my skull in her mouth. In this case it became a toad because… well, i love toads.

This painting may look frightening, but I love to exorcise old nightmares like this.
Our lives will, after all, end in death. It’s frightening, but we might as well talk about it, because sweeping under the rug won’t make it go away.
